Dear Readers of "Letters of Gold,"

Lent is almost here! Very early this year.

With SIN saturating human society, it is incumbent upon us to Think about the Passion of Jesus, to make reparation as never before, and to use the incredible powers of the Gift of the Divine Will to enter into every soul on earth, to be their substitute before God and offer sorrow and reparation for all sins of thought, word and deed. Here is a consideration concerning Jesus' agony in the Garden:

Speaking about his Sorrowful Passion to Luisa, Jesus told her that men attacked his exterior, while Eternal Love administered Its blows to all of his interior. In the Agony of the Garden, the incalculable, immense, eternal, and hidden Love opened large wounds in Jesus, pierced Him with flaming nails, punctured his Sacred Head with burning thorns and gave Him boiling gall to drink. His adorable humanity, unable to handle so many different martyrdoms all together, and simultaneously, shed great quantities of his precious Blood. As his humanity, writhing in this unspeakable agony, reached to the extreme point, Jesus called out to his Father, “If it be possible, let this chalice pass from Me; yet, not my will, but yours be done.” He never said these words at any other time during his Passion. All that He suffered in the rest of his Passion, He suffered in full during the Agony in the Garden, but these sufferings were even more intense, intimate and painful. And this was due to the operation of Eternal Love for souls which penetrated even into the marrow of his bones and the most intimate recesses of his Heart, which the human executioners were incapable of reaching. But nothing could resist the operation of Eternal Love, which penetrated everything.
